The purpose of a manometer survey is to evaluate the foundations condition on a property, provide repair recommendations and a price quote for the recommended repairs.
Scope of Work:
The extent and scope of this type of foundation survey and assessment is as follows:
Determines nature of foundation failure:
(foundation settlement or floor slab heave)
Determines location of any failure
Reveals the extent of the failure
Reveals repair options
Forensic Techniques Used:
Interior Elevations:
The flatness or levelness of the interior floor will be measured using a highly accurate survey device (Manometer). The entire area will be surveyed and the elevations will be recorded. Using these readings a topographical survey is completed and is included in the final report. The topographical survey will demonstrate where the foundation is no longer level and where support is needed. The survey will also demonstrate any floor slab heave.
Exterior Inspection:
An exterior inspection of the structure will also be performed and items such as external cracks, type of structure and obstructions that may influence the repair process are recorded.
Foundation Footprint:
Finally a measurement of the foundation is made and a drawing of the foundation is created and included in the report.
