Soil Venting Research

Many older buildings are experiencing center heave.  Center heave here being defined as moisture accumulation toward the interior portions of the floor slab and causing differential settlement with the higher elevations occurring at the middle or interior sections of the floor slab as opposed to the perimeter.  This is commonly mistaken for perimeter settlement even by experts with resulting mismatched repair plans.

The fixes for this type of problem aside from removal and replacement of the floor slab are not typically restorative and usually center around the typical moisture removal plans.  We are at this point doing some research on the some soil remediation techniques that have the promise of delivering solutions for this nagging problem.  We are at this time working with some grants and doing some experimentation on some very revolutionary techniques.  Send a request e-mail and we will keep you posted.
